King Abdulaziz Camel Festival
The architectural design of King Abdulaziz Camel Festival in its eighth edition represents a real interaction with the Saudi heritage and emodiment of part of the Saudi citizen’s culture.
PROJECT CONCEPT
The design concept for this 10,000 m2 project was inspired from a poem by His Royal Highness Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, where he describes the Najdi desert: ‘dune, rill, moon and scattered stars’. This line of the poem was abstracted to a number of design elements, which included relying on curved lines to define sand dunes, abstracting the rill element to a group of mirrors, and emphasizing the desert colors.
